Properties Tab for Events Configuration for Employee Portal of Core HR

The Event Properties screen allows you to configure general properties of the Event including whether employees can initiate the Event from the Employee Portal and whether or not the Event requires Administrative Approval.

Navigating to Properties for Events Configuration
  • Expand Setup and click Setup Properties from the menu.

  • Hover over 'Employee Portal Setup' and click Employee Portal.

  • Click the Events tab.

  • Click the name of the Event.

  • The 'Properties' tab should be the initial tab shown.

The 'Properties' tab will show the following options:

  • Active - This event can be initiated from the Employee Portal
  • Employee Changes are automatically confirmed in the system without Administrative Review
  • Employee can Edit Address Information (if 'Personal Information' step is checked)
  • Employee can add dependents (if 'Dependent Information' step is checked)
  • When collecting Emergency Contact information, require at least X Emergency Contacts
  • Require an Event Date be entered when Event is initiated
    • No completion deadline exists for event
    • Event must be completed specified number of days following Event Date: X days - Certain events may be required to be completed within a certain period of the date of the event. For example, an employee may need to be completed within 30 days of marriage. 
    • Benefit changes made during this event should become effective
      • On the first day of the month following the Event Date - The option will make any benefit changes active on the first day of the following month of the provided event date. For example, if the event date was on January 15th, the benefit changes can be active starting from February 1st.
      • X days following Event Date (0 days indicates changes become effective immediately) - The option will make any benefit changes active X days after the event date. 
  • Display Name (English) - How the name of the event will appear for English users. It may help to adjust the name of an event to what your employees are expecting to look for.
  • Display Name (Spanish) - How the name of the event will appear for Spanish users. It may help to adjust the name of an event to what your employees are expecting to look for.
