While ExakTime Connect is a website and generally does not require a desktop shortcut, a desktop shortcut can be preferable for ease of access.
If your preferred browser is Google Chrome, please read the following:
Step 1
Navigate to your ExakTime Connect account screen from Google Chrome. Your welcoming email should have provided you with a link if you aren't sure how to find it. You should see a screen like this:
Step 2
Click the "Restore Down" button at the top right of the screen. It's between Minimize and Close. You only need to do this if your internet browser window is in full screen mode.
Step 3
You should now be able to see a smaller internet browser and your desktop behind it. If you can't see your desktop, please minimize all other windows except for the browser window. Once you can see the desktop behind the browser window, click and hold on the icon next to the web address and drag it to the desktop. Drop it there.
Step 4
Double-click your new icon to open up ExakTime Connect.
Step 5
Rename the icon to "ExakTime Connect" by right-clicking on it and selecting: "Rename".
Alternative Method
Recent versions Google Chrome will also allow you to create a shortcut from within the tools menu.
- Log into ExakTime Connect and access the Dashboard as before
- Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of Chrome
- From the menu, hover over 'More Tools'
- Select 'Create shortcut...' and confirm the name in the window that appears
- 'Click Create'
If your preferred browser is Mozilla Firefox, please read the following:

Navigate to your ExakTime Connect account screen from Mozilla Firefox. Your welcoming email should have provided you with a link if you aren't sure how to find it. You should see a screen like this:

Click the green "Restore Down" button at the top left of the screen. It's next to the red Close button. You only need to do this if your internet browser window is in full screen mode.

Once you can see the desktop behind the browser window, click and hold on the icon next to the web address and drag it to the desktop. Drop it there.

Rename the icon to "ExakTime Connect" by clicking on it once and hitting the "Return" key and then typing in the new name.
If your preferred browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer or Edge, please read the following:

Navigate to your ExakTime Connect account screen from Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. Your welcoming email should have provided you with a link if you aren't sure how to find it. You should see a screen like this:

Alternative Method (Microsoft Edge)
Recent versions of Microsoft Edge will allow you create a taskbar shortcut from within the tools menu.
- Log into ExakTime Connect and access the Dashboard as before
- Click the three horizontal dots in the top right hand corner of Edge
- From the contextual menu, hover over 'More Tools'
- Select 'Pin to Taskbar'
- Confirm the name and click 'Pin' to create the shortcut
