Positions: Performance Management for Managers in Core HR

The "Positions" tab gives managers a view of the Positions configured in the system, the details of the Positions, and the number of employees assigned to those Positions. Managers will always have access to the # Emps Assigned link to see a list of employees assigned to the position.

Expand for Navigation Steps to Positions
  • Click Performance from the menu.

  • Click the Management from the Actions drop-down menu to create a new job posting or the title of an existing job posting.

  • Click the Performance Log tab.

Dashboard

The "Dashboard" provides a pie chart of employee positions.

The "Positions" tab will provide the following columns:

  • Positions - Click the name of the position to edit the details if given sufficient permission.
  • Description
  • Grade
  • Location
  • Type
  • Pay Status
  • # Emps Assigned
  • Active

Positions Details

Depending on the permission configured at the Position level in the Administration Portal, the manager may be able to click on the Position name and edit the details of the position.

  • Position – The position name. It can be based on the organization’s Human Resources job descriptions or positions listed in the Applicant Tracking module. (Required)
  • Location – The physical location of the position.
  • Pay Type – Equivalent to the Pay Schedule assigned to employees on the Employee Demographics. 
  • Position Type – Examples include, but are not limited to, the following: Full time, Part time, and Contract.
  • Pay Status – Exempt or Non-Exempt
  • Grade/Level – Similar to Federal Government grading, users can create grading for each position in the organization.
  • Code – User defined value that could be used as class code for a third party reporting tool. 
  • Low Pay Range – Minimum pay range
  • Mid Pay Range – Median pay range
  • High Pay Range – Maximum pay range
  • Notes – Internal notes for Administrators to reference on creation of the position, how the position should be applied to employees, etc. The text is visible to Core HR Administrators and Performance Managers only.

Reports

The following reports are available for positions.

  • Positions **+ - List of all Positions.
  • Position Assignment History ** - Displays a history of Position Assignments by Employee.
  • Position Assignment History excluding Terminated Employees - Displays a history of Position Assignments by Employee excluding employees with an Employee Status of "Terminated".
  • Position Permissions ** - Displays all Position Permissions.
  • Employee Positions - List of all Employee Positions for selected Effective Date.
  • No Performance Manager + - List of all Employees not assigned to a Performance Manager.
  • Compensation Census - List of all Employees by Position along with compensation information.
  • Hire Date Anniversaries - List of all Hire Date Anniversaries By Month. Submit Submit
    Position Effective Date Anniversaries List of all Position Effective Date Anniversaries By Month.
  • Alternate Service Date 1 Anniversaries - List of all Alternate Service Date 1 Anniversaries By Month.
