Personal Goals: Performance Management for Managers in Core HR

The "Personal Goals" tab allows managers to review, edit, and approve or deny the Personal Goals for their employees. By clicking on the name of an employee, the Personal Goals for that employee can be managed.

The "Personal Goals" dashboard allows you to filter the personal goals by start date, end date, employee positions, and manager.

  • Click Performance from the menu.

  • Click the Management from the Actions drop-down menu to create a new job posting or the title of an existing job posting.

Dashboard

The "Dashboard" tab will show pie and bar charts for % of goals approved, % of goals completed, % of goals approved by Manager, and % of goals completed by the manager.

Goals

The "Goals" tab will list the employees of the selected manager with the progress of their approved goals. Clicking the name/ID of an employee shows the goals for the given date range.

Viewing Employee Goals

After clicking the name/ID of an employee, managers can enter and save new goals, which then puts them in a "Pending Approval" status. Managers can also edit the settings of existing goals.

The Actions dropdown menu allows a manager to:

  • Create Goal - Create a new goal for the employee. The goal will have the status "Pending Submission" initially.
  • Submit Selected Goals for Approval - Mark the selected goals as "Submitted for Approval" and update the date of the "Submitted" field.
    • Submitting goals for approval will not automatically notify a manager. Generally, notifications are completed through a corresponding Workflow.  Employees and managers should periodically check their homepages to see if any workflows are pending.
  • Approve Selected Goals - Mark the selected goals as "Approved".
    • Approving goals will not automatically notify the employee. Generally, notifications are completed through a corresponding Workflow. Employees and managers should periodically check their homepages to see if any workflows are pending.
  • Deny Selected Goals - Mark the selected goals as "Denied".
    • Denying goals will not automatically notify the employee. Generally, notifications are completed through a corresponding Workflow. Employees and managers should periodically check their homepages to see if any workflows are pending.
  • Mark Selected Goals as Active - Mark the selected goals as "Active". Any goals that should be considered in Reviews should be marked as Active.
  • Mark Selected Goals as Inactive - Mark the selected goals as "Inactive". Any goals that should no longer be considered active goals should be marked as Inactive to not be considered in reviews.
  • Delete Selected Record(s) - Delete the selected goals. Only goals with a Status of "Pending" or "Denied" can be deleted.

Reports

The "Reports" tab will provide the following pre-made reports to download as a PDF or Excel file.

  • Goals Summary - Displays a summary list of Goals for selected filter.
  • Goals Details - Displays a list of Goals details for selected filter. 
  • Goals Summary by KPI - Displays a summary list of Goals for selected filter grouped by KPI.
  • Goals Details by KPI - Displays a list of Goals details for selected filter grouped by KPI. 
  • Employees without Goals - Displays a list of Employee details without Goals for selected filter.
