Using the Estimated Payroll and Location Labor Cost Reports for ExakTime

While we focus primarily on time tracking and time cards, we do offer reports that can generate an estimated payroll for your employees. The following reports are able to offer an estimate of pay for various purposes:

Required Setup

If you have not set up your hourly wage or wage multiplier and estimate burdens, expand the appropriate option below:

Setting Up Hourly Wage

Each employee will first need an hourly wage associated with their profile.

  • Go to Manage and click Employees.

  • Look for the employee that needs an hourly wage associated with them. Press the blue pencil icon to the left of their name.

  • Under the "General" tab within the "Employment Information" section will be an area to enter the hourly wage of the employee. Enter it as needed.

  • Save your changes.
Setting Up Wage Multiplier and Estimated Burden

The estimated burden can be entered to take into account any costs for taxes, insurance, and benefits as a percentage of the employees estimated pay.

  • Go to Manage and click Company Settings.

  • Click the Other tab.

  • Enter the appropriate values for your Exakime Connect account at the top of the "Other" section.

  • Save your changes.

Estimated Payroll Report

After the necessary information has been entered, you can run either of the two following reports to generate an estimate of employee payroll or labor cost on site: Estimated Payroll and/or Estimated Labor Cost.

Navigating to Estimated Payroll Report
  • Click Reports in the top menu bar.

  • Click Estimated Payroll from the Employee section.

Report Specific Options

The Estimated Payroll report offers the following options:

  • Show Employee ID - If enabled, the report will show the employee's ID in addition to the name.
  • Sort By - Sort the employees by their name or their ID. This option is not available if "Show Employee ID" is not enabled.
  • Show Overtime Hours - Separate the hours into Regular, OT1, and OT2.
  • Round Money to the Nearest Dollar

The report will list your employees with columns for:

  • Employee Name
  • ID Number
  • Regular/OT1/OT2/Total Hours - Hours worked by the employee.
  • Estimated Wage - The estimated wage is based on the hourly wage and hours worked.
  • Estimated Burden - The estimated burden is based on the hourly wage and percentage specified.
  • Estimated Total - The estimated total of the wage and burden.

Estimated Labor Cost Report

Navigating to Estimated Labor Cost Report
  • Click Reports in the top menu bar.

  • Click Estimated Labor Cost from the Location section.

Report Specific Options

  • Show Location ID - If enabled, the report will show the location's ID in addition to the name.
  • Show Cost Code ID - If enabled, the report will show the cost code's ID in addition to the name.
  • Sort by - Sort the list by the name or the ID. Will not be available if the ID is not enabled.
  • Separate Names and IDs with
  • Show Overtime Hours - Show the regular, OT1, and OT2 hours.
  • Round Money to the Nearest Dollar
  • Show each Location on a separate page

The report will list the locations and the cost codes used at the location with columns for:

  • Cost Code - The name of the cost code.
  • Regular/OT1/OT2/Total Hours - The hours worked by your employees.
  • Estimated Wage - The estimated wage is based on the hourly wage and hours worked.
  • Estimated Burden - The estimated burden is based on the hourly wage and percentage specified.
  • Estimated Total - The estimated total of the wage and burden.
