When trying to generate a report in ExakTime Connect, you may receive the following message:
Sorry, there was a problem running the report. Please adjust your report options to include a smaller dataset.
What Causes the Message?
The message can appear when you try to view a report that includes a large volume of data that cannot be presented in a timely manner. This is similar to situations where applications are taking longer than expected to open a file or run a command and Windows gives a message that the application is not responding. Due to it taking longer than normal, applications/operating systems will assume that there may be trouble and stop themselves to prevent further trouble.
How Can I Fix It?
If you were to receive this message, we would recommend adjusting your filters/date ranges for a smaller volume of data. For example, instead of running a report for 4 continuous years, try two reports going over 2-year chunks.
