Managing Equipment Types and Equipment for ExakTime

Equipment types are used to help organize your equipment, such as commercial vehicles, construction vehicles, power tools, etc. Equipment is the actual equipment being used by your employees, such as a truck, backhoes, jackhammers, etc.

After your equipment has been added to ExakTime Connect, it can be selected by your employees when clocking in. If you have an extensive list of Equipment, you can use Groups to group similar equipment on ExakTime Mobile so it is easier to look through the equipment list.

Adding Equipment Types

Before you can add equipment, you need to add equipment types are the types of equipment being used, such as commercial vehicles, construction vehicles, power tools, etc.

  1. Go to Manage and click on Equipment.

  2. Click on Equipment Type.

  3. Click Add Equipment Type.

  4. Give the equipment type a name and click Add or Add & New if you want to add more equipment types.

Adding New Equipment

Equipment will be the specific equipment that your employees will be selecting when they clock in. These can be the vehicles they are driving, such as Truck #1 or the specific power tool they are using.

In ExakTime Connect

  1. Go to Manage and click on Equipment.

  2. Click Add Equipment.

  3. The only required information will be the name of the equipment. The name is what will be seen by your employees when selecting the equipment on ExakTime Mobile, what will be seen on the Time Card Detail and in your reports.

  4. Click Save when finished.  
  5. After saving the equipment, your employees will need to sync their copies of ExakTime Mobile, either manually or automatically, to see the new equipment.

In ExakTime Mobile

Equipment can also be added from ExakTime Mobile with the right permissions. After adding the equipment from ExakTime Mobile, it cannot be used by other copies of ExakTime Mobile until the original creator syncs their copy of ExakTime Mobile to ExakTime Connect. When it has been processed by ExakTime Connect, your employees can sync their copies of ExakTime Mobile.

  1. Tap the menu button in the top left (≡) and tap Manage.

  2. Press the + icon towards the top-right.

  3. Enter the information for your Equipment. The only required information is the name.

  4. Click Save when finished. The equipment will be ready for you to select while clocking in.
  5. If you want the equipment to be used by other employees, you must sync your device so the Equipment is added to ExakTime Connect. After it has been processed by ExakTime Connect, your employees will need to sync their copies of ExakTime Mobile, either manually or automatically, to see the new equipment. This process can take up to 15 minutes to complete.
