Creating Courses

Launch Button Best Practice

The "Launch Button" option for a course allows you to put the URL to a video that is not SCORM/AICC compatible.

  • After setting the training type to "On the Job Training (OJT)", the "Launch Button URL" field will appear for you to enter the full URL of the video.
  • Make sure the “Autocomplete Course" option is enabled. This will mark the employee as complete when they click on the URL.

Learning Plans

  • No notifications are currently tied to learning plan assignments.
  • Employees will only see the learning plan when they log in but will not receive an email.  You may want to communicate the assignment outside of the system.

Certifications

If a course has certification tied to it (like how some ClickSafety courses do), our LMS will not automatically track that certification and pull it from the course. The best practice is to have the employee save that certification from the course, and then have the admin add it separately to the “Certifications” section for tracking.

  • First, add the certification to the system under “Add Certification”. This is where you can tie email reminders to it.
  • After it is created, assign it to the employee. The email reminders will be sent based on the expiration date of the certification. You can also upload a document to go with this if you would like to pull it up in the system.
