When editing an employee's time card, you may notice instances where a cost code is not appearing as expected in the drop-down menu. This can be easily remedied by checking any of the following:
Cost Code Not Active
Only active cost codes can be selected when adding or editing a time record. Double-check the cost code to make sure the appropriate cost code is active. If it is not active, just activate it. If you are in the process of editing a time card while updating the cost code status, you must refresh the web page to view the reactivated cost code.
Cost Code Viewset
Location Viewsets can determine what cost codes can be used with a location. If a location viewset is not set to 'All Cost Codes', only the selected cost codes can be used. Updating the location viewset will allow you to use the appropriate cost codes. If you are in the process of editing a time card while updating the location viewsets, you must refresh the web page to view the location viewset changes.
Code Code is a Timestamp
Time Stamp cost codes are used to mark an event on an employee's time card and will not appear as an option to select when editing an employee's time card. Time stamps can only be used by the employee clocking in on ExakTime Mobile or JobClocks and will appear on a time card with no time accumulated. If a cost code is a time stamp, an alternative cost code must be selected for the time record or disabling the 'timestamp' option for the cost code. If you are disabling the 'timestamp' option, double-check the original intent of the option.
