Using Onboarding in Canada

When using Onboarding in Canada, some special considerations may be required to ensure ease of use and compatibility which are listed below.

General

  • E-Verify and Work Opportunity Tax Credit are not offered in Canada and will not be available for Onboarding. 

Settings

Navigating to Settings
  1. Click Administration from the menu bar.

  2. The "Settings" tab should be the initial tab shown.

  • Voluntary Surveys should be disabled.

Locations

Navigating to Locations
  1. Click Administration from the menu bar.

  2. In the Administration menu, click Locations.

  • Some fields will use Canadian-appropriate labels:
    • Provinces instead of States.
    • Zip Codes will allow 6 characters with a space in between.
  • E-Verify is not available in Canada and will not be available for Onboarding. 
  • Federal EIN are not required for Locations.

Forms

Navigating to Forms
  1. Click Administration from the menu bar.

  2. From the Administration bar, click Forms.

  3. Click  ...  from the Actions column and click Form Activation Settings.

  • I-9, W4 Federal, and W4 State forms do not need to be activated for locations.
    • Canadian tax forms must be created as Custom Forms and may require routine maintenance to keep up with Canadian compliance.
