Edit and Add Activity/Progress Notes for a Development Plan

Edit the details of a Development Plan, update the percentage complete, or add new activitiers/progress notes.

Activities are used to track the different tasks the employee must complete, such as a course from the LMS.

Progress Notes are viewable by the employee and allow a manager to add notes on how the employee is progressing with their Development Plan.

Navigating to Development Plans
  • Click Development Plans from the menu of the Succession module.

  • Select the employee(s) from the provided drop-down menu and click View.

  • Click Edit for the Development Plan.

  • Edit the details of the Development Plan as needed.

  • For Activities or Progress Notes, go to the bottom of the page and select what you are wanting to add. Activities will be selected by default.

For Activities

  • Click New Activity.

  • Setup your Activity:

    • Activity Name
    • Activity Description
    • Activity Due Date
    • Activity Type
      • Activity to Support
      • Formal Education (Coursework, Training, etc.) - If you have the LMS Module, you will be able to select from a list of all the courses within your course catalog.

        Employees would receive an email to let them know they have been assigned the course. Once completed, the Activity would update with a completion date and the employee's course history would be updated.

      • Milestone
      • On the Job Experience
      • Relational (e.g. Coaching/Mentoring)
    • Completed Date - The completed date will auto-populate if Formal Education was selected and the course was completed. Otherwise, you will need to enter the completed date manually. 
    • Self-Rating

    Click Save to have the activity added to the employees' Development Plan.

For Progress Notes

  • Enter your progress note into the provided field. Click Add Note when finished.
