The "Veteran Status" tab allows the Administrator to track all the affirmative action efforts in employing veterans. The system will create a printable VETS-4212 form that can be sent to the US Department of Labor - Veteran's Employment & Training Service.
- From the menu, expand Employee and click Demographic Info.
- If already viewing an employee profile, you can hover over "Employee" to show the available pages. Click Demographic Info.
- Click the Veteran Status tab from the Demographic Info page.
Program Overview
The U.S. Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) and Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has supported affirmative action’s to employ and advance in employment, "covered veterans" since 2008. As legislatively mandated under 38 U.S. Code, Sections 4211 and 4212, codified at 41 CFR Sections 61-250 and 61-300, respectively, contractors and subcontractors who enter into or modify a contract or subcontract with the federal government, and whose contract meets the criteria set forth in the above legislation/regulations, are required to report annually on their affirmative action efforts in employing veterans. VETS has a legislative requirement to collect, and make available to OFCCP, reported data contained on the VETS-4212 reports for compliance enforcement.
All sections for the VETS-4212 are configured on the Set Up menu.
You can navigate to it from the menu Set Up > Set Up Properties > Compliance > VETS-4212.

Understanding the Tab
Veteran Status includes the following choices:
- Disabled Veteran
- Other Protected Veteran
- Armed Forces Service Medal Veteran
- Recently Separated Veteran
- Active Duty Wartime or Campaign Badge Veteran
Please keep in mind that you can select multiple Veteran Statuses as a veteran can hold several of these statuses below and will be counted separately under each category on the VETS-4212 report.
