Before assigning an evaluation to your employees, it may help to test an evaluation form to ensure it works as expected. After confirming your evaluation, you can schedule the evaluation for your employees to complete. For this article, we will test a self-evaluation for an employee and a manager.

Assigning the Evaluation
- Go to Manage Tools and click Assign Evaluation.
- Click New Item.
- Assign the evaluation to the employee.
- Select the form you will test.
- Specify an employee. It may help to create a test employee or manager that you can impersonate and not impact actual employees/managers.
- Specify the perspective that best matches the evaluation you are testing.
- Other fields can be ignored, but it will depend on what you want to test.
- Click Send Evaluation when finished.
Testing the Evaluation
Performance administrators can impersonate users, allowing you to test the evaluation from a user's perspective.
- Click your profile in the top-right and click Impersonate.
- Select the employee/manager you are impersonating and click Continue.
- Confirm that you are impersonating the correct employee with the label "Impersonate" to the top-right.
- Navigate to Performance if not already there.
- The assigned evaluation should be listed under "Evaluations Due". Click the paper icon to begin the evaluation.
- Confirm that the evaluation appears as expected. Complete the form as normal for testing.
- Click your profile in the top-right and click End Impersonation.
- If you had completed a self-evaluation that involves the manager, impersonate the manager's perspective. Click your profile in the top-right and click Impersonate. Otherwise, continue making adjustments and testing/assigning the form to your employees.
- Select the manager you are impersonating and click Continue.
- Navigate to Performance if not already there.
- The assigned evaluation that the test employee completed should be listed under "Evaluations Due". Click the paper icon to begin the evaluation.
- Confirm that the evaluation appears as expected. As this was a self-evaluation, you will see the test employee's responses and fields for the manager's perspective. Complete the form as normal for testing.
- If you had any approvers enabled for the form, you can impersonate the approvers to continue testing the journey of the evaluation.
- When the evaluation has been approved or has no approvers required, the manager will see the evaluation in the "Evaluations Due" section to be finalized.
