Troubleshooting CMiC Integration Error: SSN Already Exists Within Employee Table

Cause

When running a Core HR to CMiC data sync, you may see this error:

"Write to CMiC Construction - Error Occurred: EMP_SIN_NO - SSN 123456789 already exists within Employee Table"

This error will prevent data from syncing to CMiC until it is corrected.

Issue

  • The Social Security Number (SSN) on the employee record in Core HR is already in use on a different employee record in CMiC.
  • CMiC requires that each employee record has a unique SSN. Duplicate SSNs are not allowed.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Core HR
  2. Search for and open the employee record
  3. Navigate to: Employee > Demographics > Personal
  4. Locate the Social Security Number (SSN) field
  5. Update the SSN to a unique, correct value (ensure it does not duplicate another employee’s SSN in CMiC)
  6. Save your changes

Next Steps

  • Re-run the data sync.
  • The error will clear automatically, and the employee record will successfully sync to CMiC.

Key Points to Remember

  • SSNs must be unique for every employee in CMiC.
  • Once corrected, no manual intervention in CMiC is needed—the sync will update automatically.
