Cause
When running a Core HR to CMiC data sync, you may see this error:
"Write to CMiC Construction - The record will not be synced since the start date in the source system [START DATE] matches an existing effective date for Tax Overrides [EFFECTIVE DATE] in CMiC."
This error will only block tax data from syncing to CMiC until corrected.
Issue
- A state or federal tax update is being sent from Core HR to CMiC with an effective start date that is the same as an existing tax record in CMiC.
- CMiC does not allow two tax records with different data to share the same effective start date, causing the sync to fail for tax data.
Resolution
- Log in to Core HR
- Search for and open the employee record
- Navigate to: Payroll > Taxes
- Locate the tax record (state or federal) causing the error.
- Check the sync logs for the effective date in CMiC that is conflicting.
- Update the tax record’s effective start date in Core HR to a date later than the conflicting CMiC date.
- Save your changes.
Next Steps
- Re-run the sync.
- The error will clear, and the updated tax data will successfully pass to CMiC.
Key Points to Remember
- This error only affects tax data—other employee information will continue syncing.
- Always verify effective dates for tax updates before syncing.
- CMiC requires each tax record to have a unique effective start date.
