AccountLinx/SyncLinx Compatibility with Hosting Services, such as Right Networks

If using a hosting service or virtualized computers, such as Right Networks, it would require the installation and setup of SyncLinx/AccountLinx in such a way that allows our applications to connect/communicate with your payroll/accounting software. This is generally done by hosting service support staff, as we would have limited permission/access to their hosting service. We can provide the steps to install and configure SyncLinx/AccountLinx, but we are typically unable to directly assist due to security restrictions.

These hosting services must also install SyncLinx/AccountLinx in such a way that our applications can communicate with the third-party application. For example:

  • Direct Connection Applications, such as Quickbooks (Desktop edition), with a direct software connection require SyncLinx and AccountLinx to be installed within the same computer/virtual machine. Think of it like installing both applications on one computer.
  • Other applications, such as Sage 100, have a direct connection but allow connections from different virtual machines. Think of it like having the Sage 100 database on a server, while SyncLinx/AccountLinx are installed on your work desktop.
  • Other applications, such as Paychex Flex, have no direct connection, and AccountLinx will export a file to be imported into Paychex Flex. In these instances, you will simply need to be able to export or send the file from the hosting service.
