ExakTime Report Message: This Content is Blocked

When trying to generate a report in ExakTime Connect, you may receive the following message:

This content is blocked. Contact the site owner to fix the issue.

While the message reads like an error from us, it is an issue that must be fixed with your web browser, generally by clearing your cache and cookies.

What Causes the Error?

The message can be present in Google Chrome and other Chromium-based web browsers but can be presented in other web browsers with varying messages and is generally caused by old cached cookies/data stored by Google Chrome for ExakTime Connect. Other websites may have similar trouble, but may not present an error message and are only noticed when trying to use a website.

An easy troubleshooting method to see if the message is due to cached data/cookies is to open an Incognito (if Chrome) or Private Browser (if Firefox) window, navigate to your ExakTime website, and generate a report. The Incognito/Private Browser window generally does not use any cached data/cookies, so if you have no trouble generating the report in an Incognito/Private Browser window, the issue is caused by cached data/cookies.

How Can I Fix It?

Clear Data/Cookies

A standard solution for any website that is behaving oddly is to clear your web browser's data/cookies so your web browser can download the latest data possible.

Use an Alternative Web Browser

If you are still having trouble generating a report in Chrome or a Chromium-based browser, then it can help to try an alternate web browser that you seldom use such as Mozilla Firefox, as it may not have any of the cached data/cookies that could be causing trouble. If you have no trouble with the alternative web browser, but still have trouble with your preferred web browser of choice, make sure that you are fully clearing the data/cookies and try again.
