If a timecard or timesheet has been approved or signed off, the time approval/sign off can be removed by either using the "Remove Approval/Unapprove" button, the Time Summary checkbox, or when an approved timecard/timesheet has been edited by users with sufficient permissions.
After an approval has been removed, you may need to let your employees/supervisors know to reapprove the time card.

Who Can Remove a Time Approval
A time approval can only be removed if there is no higher-level approval than your approval. If there is a higher level of time approval than yours, the "Remove Approval" button will not be present. For example, if a time has an Employee and Supervisor approval, the employee cannot remove their Employee Approval. After an approval has been removed, relevant approvers should be notified through company-approved channels to reapprove the time.
There are currently three levels of approval:
- Employee - The lowest level of approval
- Supervisor
- Sign-Off - The highest level of approval
If the time has been approved at an equal level, then you can remove a time approval or edit a time record. For example, if there is a Supervisor approval for a time, any user with supervisor-level approval can remove the Supervisor approval.
Approvals can be removed in bulk by an Administrator or individually by a user with the appropriate approval level. For example, if an employee's time has been approved by the employee and supervisor and the Administrator wants the time to be unapproved, any supervisor and the employee will need to remove their approval, or the Administrator can edit the time card. The original approvers will need to reapprove their time.
Time Approvals and Quarantined Time
If time has been approved at any level, time punches created by and for the employee after the approval will populate the Quarantined Time menu instead of the employee's time.
After removing all approvals for an employee's time, all quarantined time punches of the Employee in the Quarantined Time tab will automatically populate the employee's time.
How to Remove a Time Approval
By Editing a Timecard/Timesheet
When a timecard/timesheet has been edited by an employee with sufficient permission, all lower time card approvals will be removed. An employee/supervisor cannot edit a time card if there is any approval at or above their approval level.
For example, an employee with supervisor-level approval cannot edit a time card with Sign-Off level approval. A user with Sign-Off level approval can edit a time card and remove both Supervisor and Employee level approvals. If a Sign-Off level user is trying to edit a time card that has been signed-off, then sign-off approval should be removed to edit the time card.
After editing an employee's time card, the editor should contact the approvers (employee, supervisor, or sign-off) to reapprove the time card.
