All jobs should be accurate, easy to read, and professional. Indeed requirements state that any job postings that do not meet quality standards may be hidden, removed, or require sponsorship.

Clear Job Titles
Use clear, search-friendly job titles. Indeed evaluates job titles similarly to a search engine.
- Keep titles simple, short, and accurate.
- Use the real job title only.
- Don't use clickbait, emojis, symbols, or unclear text.
- Avoid adding details like location, pay, or shifts. These belong in the job description.
Example
- Do: "Warehouse Associate"
- Don't: "Warehouse Associate - $20/hr Night Shift!!!"
Pay Info Front and Center
Include pay near the top of the job description. Jobs with visible pay information typically receive higher engagement and apply completion.
Best practices include:
- Listing hourly rate or salary range in the first few lines
- Calling out key details such as overtime, weekly pay, or bonuses
Example
Pay: $22–$30/hr + OT + Weekly Pay
Concise Job Descriptions
Keep job descriptions concise and mobile-friendly. Long or policy-heavy descriptions can reduce application completion, especially on mobile devices.
Recommended length: 300–600 words, focused on:
- Include the company name, pay, work hours, benefits, and duties.
- Use full sentences and professional language.
- Avoid spam-like content, like all caps, extra punctuation, or too many abbreviations.
- Keep the tone clear and focused on the job.
Example
- Do: "We're hiring a full-term cashier at [company name]. Pay starts at [amount] per hour. Duties include helping customers, managing the register, and keeping the checkout area clean."
- Don't: "HIRING CASHIER $$$ APPLY NOW!!! GREAT PAY!!!"
Avoid Keyword Stuffing
This practice puts your jobs at a higher risk of being flagged and removed by Indeed.
- Don't repeat the same keywords to boost search results.
- Don't list competitors' names.
- Don't include long lists of job titles or company names.
- Write short sentences that describe the job in a clear way.
Include Precise Location
- Indeed requires job postings to specify an exact location, including the full street address, city, and ZIP code.
- Avoid listing multiple locations in a single posting or using vague geographic descriptions.
- When hiring within a specific city, do not use a nearby larger city as a substitute location.
Confirm Indeed Apply is Enabled
Arcoro supports Indeed Apply, allowing candidates to apply directly within Indeed without leaving the platform.
Jobs using Indeed Apply often see:
- Higher mobile completion rates
- Better engagement
- Stronger eligibility for organic visibility
You can confirm this setting in your Arcoro job board by following these steps.

Ways to drive early engagement include:
- Sharing the Indeed job link with employee referrals

Maintain Job Postings
Maintain consistent hiring activity. Regular interaction with applicants helps reinforce job quality signals.
Best practices:
- Review applicants promptly
- Update candidate statuses in Arcoro
- Close filled jobs in a timely manner
FAQs
- How often should jobs be refreshed?
-
It is important to note that jobs are not “refreshed” on Indeed’s platform. This is something that exists on the Arcoro side of the integration. When a job is “refreshed,” it is closed, then re-posted by our system, which sends these updates to Indeed via API.
Based on the Job Posting Integrity guidelines (linked below), Indeed recommends that employers not repost their job, so this method, originally intended to improve visibility of a job, may now have unintended negative consequences.
Refer to Indeed's resource for Job Posting Integrity Guidelines
- What is the best practice to post if my job has multiple locations?
-
The Indeed job posting location policy (linked below) does not offer guidance on how to accomplish this.
Indeed has advised that the best way for clients to resolve unanswered questions about setting up locations is to contact their CS rep or Indeed service teams through their Indeed account. If an organization has a job with multiple locations, we advise they reach out to Indeed.

- What if I want to post a job for a region, e.g. Los Angeles metro area, instead of a precise location?
-
The Indeed policy states that a job must be posted with a specific and accurate location if it is in-person work. However, they do support on-the-road or travel jobs that allow a recruiter to post the general area where the work occurs. This may be an option for organizations if they find that the exact street address does not fit their job.
Indeed has advised that the best way for clients to resolve unanswered questions about setting up locations is to contact their CS rep or Indeed service teams through their Indeed account.

- What does Indeed own, what does Arcoro own, and what do our users own?
-
Arcoro owns the functionality in our ATS that allows jobs to be created and edited. Our team also owns the integration that allows jobs to be sent to Indeed once they are posted. If there is a problem with the integration, our team can troubleshoot with the help of Indeed.
Indeed owns their marketplace and the visibility of our users’ jobs on their marketplace. Jobs are displayed based on Indeed’s proprietary algorithm, which Arcoro has no control over. Their display rules take into account many different factors, such as if the job has location and salary information and if the job is sponsored. Generally speaking, Indeed can and does change this display logic regularly and this can affect our users’ job visibility on their site.
Our users own the completeness and accuracy of their job postings that are sent to Indeed through our integration. They also optimize the job posting per Indeed guidelines, such as including salary and location.
- Are salary and location required for jobs to be posted Indeed?
These are not required fields; if these are mentioned in the description field of the job, they are required to be added to the specific fields, which are passed separately to Indeed.
- Can job postings only have one location?
Yes, Indeed has provided guidance to us that there should only be one location per job posting.
