4/2026 - Applicant Tracking Release Notes - AI Job Descriptions for Existing Jobs

Recruiters and hiring managers frequently need to refine existing job descriptions — clarifying responsibilities, adjusting tone, adding missing sections, or tightening language — but today, any meaningful edit requires manual rewriting.

With this release, the Arcoro Hire ATS introduces an AI-powered “Edit with AI” experience that lets users prompt the AI to revise an existing job description, preview the result, and choose whether to keep, discard, or try a different prompt. This allows users to quickly improve clarity, inclusiveness, and completeness without starting over.

Enhancements

"Edit With AI" Button

  • For any existing job description, the previous “Generate with AI” button is replaced with a new “Edit with AI” button.

  • The “Edit with AI” button is visible on existing descriptions when user navigates to the description within job templates, job requisitions or while posting a job.
  • The original “Generate Job Description” button is preserved for job descriptions that have not yet been created — for example, new job templates and new requisitions or postings created from scratch.
  • Only users who already have permission to edit job templates, jobs, or requisitions see and can use the “Edit with AI” button. Existing permission structures are respected — AI editing does not grant new access.

Submitting an AI Edit Prompt

  • When a user clicks “Edit with AI,” a modal opens that includes the Job Title, helper text, and Cancel and Generate buttons.

  • The user types a natural-language prompt describing how they want the job description changed.  For example, a user may type, “Add a must-haves section” or “Make the tone more conversational”.
  • The Generate button is inactive until the user has entered prompt text, preventing empty submissions.
  • Clicking Cancel closes the modal and returns the user to the main job description page with no changes made.
  • Clicking Generate produces a revised version, which the user can review before saving.

Reviewing AI-Generated Job Description

  • After the AI returns a new version, the user is shown the revised job description in a review modal before anything is saved.
  • The original job description remains unchanged until the user explicitly confirms — editing is non-destructive by design.
  • From the review modal the user has three options:
    • Try a different prompt – returns the user to the prompt modal with their previous prompt preserved so they can refine it.
    • Discard – closes the review without saving and returns to the main job description page with the original content intact.
    • Keep this version – saves the AI-generated version as the new job description and returns the user to the main job description page.

Revising a Prompt

  • If the first AI response isn’t quite right, users can click “Try a different prompt” and tweak their instructions without losing context.
  • The previous prompt is pre-populated in the prompt field so users can iterate on their wording instead of retyping from scratch.
  • Users can re-run the prompt as many times as needed; each run uses the current saved job description as the starting point until “Keep this version” is selected.

Spanish Translation Behavior

  • For requisitions and jobs that have both English and Spanish enabled, selecting “Keep this version” updates both the English and Spanish job description.

Error Handling for AI Service Failures

  • If the AI service is unavailable or the edit fails to generate, the user sees a clear error message in place of a revised job description.
  • The user can retry the AI request or close the modal and continue editing the job description manually — their existing content is never lost.
