5/2026 - Performance Release Notes - Employee Sign-Off on Evaluations

Performance evaluations in the Arcoro Talent Management (Grow) system today require employees to acknowledge completed evaluations by entering their PIN on their manager’s device. Sharing a device for this step is inconvenient, creates privacy concerns, and weakens the auditability of the acknowledgment.

This release updates the employee-manager combined evaluation workflow so that, after the manager signs off, the evaluation is automatically routed back to the employee. The employee receives a notification, reviews the completed evaluation, and signs off with their PIN on their own device. The evaluation then returns to the manager for a final sign-off and is added to the Completed tab for both the employee and the manager.

Updated Combined Evaluation Workflow

  • For any evaluation where “Require Employee Sign-Off on Manager Evaluation” is enabled, the finalization step in the workflow has been updated.
  • Previously, both the manager and employee had to enter their PINs together on the manager’s device during the finalization step. With this release, finalization is split into two separate, device-independent steps.
  • The updated workflow is:
    • Admin creates the evaluation.
    • Manager or admin assigns the evaluation to the employee.
    • Employee completes their self-evaluation and signs with their PIN.
    • Evaluation is sent to the employee’s manager.
    • Manager completes the evaluation and signs with their PIN.
    • Evaluation is routed back to the employee’s “Evaluations Due” tab for acknowledgment.
    • Employee opens the evaluation on their own device, reviews it, and signs with their PIN.
    • Evaluation returns to the manager for a final sign-off.
    • Once the manager finalizes, the evaluation moves to the Completed tab for both the employee and the manager.

Employee Receives Evaluation for Finalization

  • After the manager signs, the evaluation appears in the employee’s “Evaluations Due” queue in the Employee portal.
  • The employee sees the same evaluation view they used for their self-evaluation, now populated with the manager’s completed ratings and comments.
  • The employee does not need access to the manager’s device to acknowledge the evaluation.

Employee Notification When an Evaluation is Ready for Sign-Off

  • A new system-generated email is sent to the employee at the moment the manager finalizes their portion of the evaluation.
  • The email notifies the employee that a completed evaluation is awaiting their acknowledgment and points them to the Employee portal.
  • The notification uses the employee’s primary email on file in Arcoro Talent Management, and no configuration is required to turn it on.

Employee Finalizes Evaluation with PIN and Manager Signs Off

  • From the “Evaluations Due” tab, the employee opens the completed evaluation and reviews the manager’s responses.
  • The employee enters their PIN on their own device to acknowledge the evaluation.
  • Only the employee’s PIN is accepted in this step; the manager does not need to be present. After the employee signs, the evaluation is routed back to the manager for a final confirmation sign-off and shows in the  “Evaluations Due” list for a final confirmation.
  • The manager enters their PIN on their own device to finalize the evaluation.

Completed Evaluation Display

  • Finalized evaluations continue to appear on the Completed tab in both the manager and employee views, exactly as they do today.
  • Both the manager's sign-off date and the employee's sign-off date are retained on the evaluation record and are available in existing evaluation reports.

Behavior for Existing Vs. New Evaluations

  • Any evaluation assigned after this release that has “Require Employee Sign-Off on Manager Evaluation” enabled will use the new workflow. This applies to both manually assigned and scheduled evaluations.
  • For example, if an evaluation was scheduled on April 1 and the new workflow is released on April 30, any assignment generated by that schedule on or after April 30 will use the new sign-off workflow.
  • Evaluations that were already in progress at the time of the release continue to follow the previous workflow through finalization so that in-flight reviews are not disrupted.
