Document Category and Tags Import Layout for Core HR

The document category and tags import layout allows you to import the category and tag(s) for a document. You will generate the "Document Categories and Tags" export from the "Quick Excel Exports" menu to generate a list of all employee documents for you to populate and import back into the system.

Generating Import Template

To help you import your document's categories and tags, you should use our "Quick Excel Export".

  1. Expand Data, expand Exports, and click Manage from the menu.

  3. Your web browser will download and save the Excel document.

Using Import Template

The Excel document will have two worksheets for you to use.

  • The first worksheet will contain a list of all existing employee documents with appropriate document ID's and employee information. You will fill in the "DocumentCategory" and "DocumentTags" columns with the appropriate category and tags.

    • Columns A-F should not be modified to ensure the appropriate documents are updated.
    • Only one document category can be entered.
    • If you are entering multiple document tags, they should be separated with a vertical bar ("|" character above Enter key) to separate different tags. For example, 2026|Confidential.
