Sage Intacct with Arcoro Time Troubleshooting: Union Setup

When Arcoro Time receives a union from the connected source system, it checks that the union has a name and that the name fits within Arcoro Time's limit before it creates or updates anything. If the name is missing, or is too long, that one union is skipped for this run; the rest of the unions in the run are not affected. Because Arcoro Time can only match a union by its name, correcting the name does not update whatever record may already exist under the old name. The next successful sync creates a brand new union in Arcoro Time under the corrected name instead.

Error Messages

A Union was sent from the source system without the required Name property. This record will not be processed. Correct the data in the source system and execute the Sync again.Write - source system into Arcoro TimeOn the Union write step. This is the first check made on each union record, before any match lookup and before the length check below. Fires when the union's Name is missing, empty, or made up only of blank space.Whole record skipped. Logged as an Error; the union is not created or updated in Arcoro Time.In the source system, add a Name value to the union record, then re-run the sync.
The Union Name '[Union Name]' exceeds the maximum length of [character limit] characters supported by Arcoro Time. This record will not be processed. Shorten the Name in the source system and execute the Sync again.Write - source system into Arcoro TimeOn the Union write step, checked right after the Name is confirmed present. Fires when the Name is longer than 150 characters, Arcoro Time's maximum length for a Union Name. This check runs on every sync, whether the union would be newly created or would be updating a union that already exists in Arcoro Time.Whole record skipped. Logged as an Error; the union is not created or updated in Arcoro Time.In the source system, shorten the union's Name to 150 characters or fewer, then re-run the sync.

Confirming the Error

  1. Open Sync History for the run and find the Union row.
  2. Before working either message below, confirm the Union step's own setup succeeded. If the Failures column shows an entry for Union PreLoad, that is a different problem and must be resolved first; see the Preload article. Neither message in this article can fire until that setup step has completed.
  3. Check the Errors column for the Union row.
  4. Match on the fixed part of the sentence, either "was sent from the source system without the required Name property" or "exceeds the maximum length of", not on the union name or number shown in quotes, since those values change per record.
  5. Open the detailed log for the Union row to see which source union record the message names.
  6. Check Added, Updated, and Unchanged for the Union row. Other unions in the same run should still be counted there; only the flagged record is missing from those counts.

Resolving the Error

Name is Missing

  1. In the source system that feeds this connector, open the union record named in the log message.
  2. Enter a value in the field the source system uses to label the union. Depending on the source system, this value may already combine a code and a name; whatever the source sends becomes the Union's Name in Arcoro Time.
  3. Save the change in the source system.
  4. Re-run the sync.
  5. Confirm the fix: open Sync History for the new run and check that the Union row's Added or Updated count includes this record, with no Error logged against it.

Name is Too Long

  1. In the source system, open the union record named in the log message and shorten its name value to 150 characters or fewer, Arcoro Time's maximum length for a Union Name.
  2. Save the change in the source system, then re-run the sync.
  3. If Arcoro Time does not already hold a union under the shortened name, expect this sync to create a brand new union rather than update any union that was previously attempted. Arcoro Time matches a union only by its name, and a name is never changed on an existing match.
  4. If an earlier, differently-named union already exists in Arcoro Time for this same source record, this sync will not rename, merge, or deactivate it. It has to be handled directly in Arcoro Time if it needs to be cleaned up.
  5. Confirm the fix: open Sync History for the new run and check that the Union row's Added or Updated count includes this record, with no Error logged against it.

When to Escalate

If any of the following occur, you may need to reach out to Arcoro support for additional assistance.

  • The Failures column shows a Union PreLoad entry instead of, or in addition to, either of these two Errors. That is covered by the Preload and lookup data setup article, not this one.
  • You confirm the union's name was corrected and saved in the source system, a sync was re-run, and the same union still logs the same message.
  • You need an older, orphaned union in Arcoro Time (left behind by a rename) to be merged, renamed, or deactivated. This sync never updates or removes a union once its name no longer matches an incoming record.
