Using Integrations: Connectors, Syncs, History, Schedules, and Audit History

Integrations in Arcoro keep your systems in step, like Core HR, Arcoro Time (formerly ExakTime), and Payroll. This article walks through each page using one connector and one sync as examples.

Instructional Video

We also offer an instructional video that you can check out as you follow the steps below:

Before you begin

  • Find these pages under Integrations in the left menu.
  • What you can see and do depends on your permissions. Viewing, editing, running syncs, managing schedules, and viewing audit history are each granted separately. If an option is missing, ask your company admin for access.

Connectors

A connector holds the sign-in details and settings for one system. Every sync uses 2 connectors: one as the source and one as the destination.

Review a connector

  1. Select Integrations > Connectors.
  2. Use Search or the column filters to find a connector. The list shows each connector's Name, Product, and Product Configuration.
  3. Select the view icon on the connector's row.

The connector page shows its product, its configuration, and the properties that configuration requires. Secret values, like passwords, show as Hidden. To change a connector, select Edit.

Adding a connector? Select Add, then enter a name and choose the product and configuration. On the sign-in step, select Test authentication. Continue is available once the test passes.

Syncs

A sync moves data from a source connector to a destination connector. The Syncs list shows each sync's latest run at a glance: Status, whether the run saved changes (Save), when it Started, its Duration, who ran it (User), and its Source and Destination.

  1. Select Integrations > Syncs.
  2. Turn Only enabled on or off to show or hide disabled syncs.
  3. Select the view icon on a sync's row to open it.

Each sync has its own page with an Enabled switch, a Run now button, an Edit button, and 5 tabs: Run status, Sync history, Sync schedule(s), Sync settings, and Audit history.

Run a Sync and Watch it Live

Syncs usually run on a schedule, but you can start one yourself at any time.

Start a Run

  1. Open the sync and select Run now.
  2. If the sync asks for Run parameters, fill them in. For example, you can run it for certain employees only. Leave them blank to include everyone.
  3. Decide whether this is a test or a real run:
    • Real run: leave Save changes on. The sync updates the other system.
    • Test run: turn Save changes off. The sync checks your data and reports problems, but changes nothing in the other system.
  4. Select Run.

Watch it Run

While the sync runs, the Run status tab shows its progress:

  • On the left, each step shows what it is working on, like Employees. The numbers can keep going up until the step finishes.
  • On the right, Activity lists each thing the sync does, as it happens.
  • To end the run early, select Stop. It can take a moment to finish stopping.

When the run finishes, its results open on their own. To stay on the progress page instead, clear the check box next to Stop.

Waiting to start? If other syncs are running, yours shows Pending and starts on its own when its turn comes.

Sync History and Results

The Sync history tab lists every run of the sync from the last 45 days. Each row shows the run's status, start time, duration, and totals for Failures, Errors, Warnings, and Information.

Review a Run's Results

  1. On the run's row, select the results icon.
  2. The Summary shows how many records were added, updated, and unchanged, plus totals for failures, errors, warnings, and information.
  3. Use the tabs below the summary to review each type of message. Tabs appear only when they have something to show.

Download Result Files

When a run produces files, open the File results or Logs tab and select a file name to download it. Files that are no longer available show as Expired.

Run it again: Select Rerun on the results page, or the rerun icon in the history list, to run the same sync again.

Sync Schedule

Schedules run a sync automatically. The Sync schedule(s) tab lists the schedules for this sync with their Frequency, Next run, Last run, Last result, and whether each is Active.

Integrations Unified - 03.jpg

Add a Schedule

  1. On the Sync schedule(s) tab, select Add.
  2. Enter a Schedule name and leave Active on.
  3. Choose a Frequency: One Time, Hourly, Daily, or Weekly.
  4. For repeating schedules, set Repeat every (the number of hours, days, or weeks between runs) and choose the Days of week it can run.
  5. Set the Start date, Time, and Time zone. The time is read in the time zone you choose, not the viewer's.
  6. Optionally, set an End date for a repeating schedule.
  7. Confirm the Sync to schedule, then select Save.

Good to know: Running a schedule manually from its row runs the sync right away. A manual run does not appear in schedule history.

Sync Settings

The Sync settings tab is a read-only summary of how the sync is set up:

  • Connections shows the source and destination connectors and their products.
  • The data section lists the data the sync moves, grouped by area.
  • Notifications shows whether notifications are on and who receives them.

To change any of these, select Edit at the top of the page.

Audit History

Audit history shows what changed, when it changed, and who changed it.

See Changes to One Sync

Open the sync and select the Audit history tab. The newest changes are at the top.

Integrations Unified - 21.jpg

See Changes to One Connector

On the Connectors list, select the history icon on the connector's row. If the icon is grayed out, no one has changed that connector yet.

Find Changes By Date

The Audit history page shows changes to every connector, sync, and schedule in your company. To see what changed on a certain day or during a certain week:

  1. In Start date, enter the first day you want to see.
  2. In End date, enter the last day you want to see. To look at a single day, use the same date in both.
  3. Select Search.
