Background checks allow you to better vet your candidates for your company and can be ordered through your ATS while viewing the details for your job posting.
Credits Required
Credits are required to order a background check. If you are in need of credits or have questions regarding credits, please consult your account manager.

Ordering a Background Check
Navigating to Job Details
- Click Jobs from the top menu bar of your ATS.
- Click the name of the job from the jobs list to view the job details.
- Click the manage application background checks icon
under the "Actions" column for a candidate.
- You will be taken to a page listing previous/current background checks and a button to order a new background check. Click Add New Background Check to order a background check for the candidate.
- You will be taken to a page where you will select the “Background Check Provider” from a dropdown menu. After selecting the background check provider, an additional drop-down menu will appear to select an available “Background Check Type.”
- The available amount of credits is displayed next to the package and will update after the order is submitted. If you need additional credits, please speak to your account manager.
- A reference ID can be entered if there is a background check ID you are using internally. This is not a required field.
- After clicking the "Order Background Check" button, the candidate will receive an email from “support@wolfeinc.com” to complete their background check questionnaire and the candidate's background check status will be “Applicant Pending.”
- The candidate should receive an email like in the example below where they will click “Click here to begin” to complete their background check questionnaire, which includes acknowledgment/consent, disclosures, a summary of rights, etc.
- When the candidate completes their questionnaire, their background check will be officially submitted and their background check status will change from “Applicant Pending” to “Pending.”
- After the background check is complete, the candidate’s background check status will change to “Ready” and you will receive an email notification once the results are complete.
Reviewing Background Check Results
The status of a background check can be reviewed on the "Manage Background Check" page where you had originally ordered the background check.
Navigating to Manage Background Checks
- Click Jobs from the top menu bar of your ATS.
- Click the name of the job from the jobs list to view the job details.
- Click the manage application background checks icon
under the "Actions" column for a candidate.
The “Status” column will any of the following:
- Applicant Pending – The applicant has yet to complete the additional information necessary to fulfill the order.
- Pending – The order is being processed or results compiled.
- Ready– The order is fulfilled and the results can be reviewed.
- Canceled– The order was no longer needed and canceled. This status can also indicate the order was accidentally canceled by the candidate. If so, a new order will need to be placed.
To view results once they are available, click Get Results under the “Results” column on the right-hand side. An example of the results has been provided below:
