If you have the "Manual Meal Break" option enabled for a policy group, you should be able to see a "Meal Break" button beneath the GO and STOP buttons of the "Clock In" tab on ExakTime Mobile.
If the "Meal Break" button is not appearing as expected, try the below troubleshooting steps to see what could be causing the trouble:
Double-Check Policy Group
The easiest thing to double-check would be to make sure that "Meal Break" has been enabled for the appropriate policy group. This is different from other ExakTime Mobile features as it is controlled by an employee's Policy Group instead of the typical ExakTime Mobile Security Role.
If you do not have permission to make adjustments to your ExakTime system, consult your ExakTime administrator for assistance. If you have access to ExakTime Connect and are unfamiliar with Policy Groups, you can refer to the comprehensive article for manual meal breaks.
Sync ExakTime Mobile
If "Meal Breaks" were recently enabled for a policy group, it will take about 5 minutes for the new setting to be bundled up along with other information such as employees, locations, etc. for ExakTime Mobile to download and use. An employee would simply need to sync their copy of ExakTime Mobile to receive the new setting, log out, and log back in to ExakTime Mobile.
Update ExakTime Mobile
The "Manual Meal Break" option is only available for ExakTime Mobile version 2.82 and newer. If ExakTime Mobile is an older version, it will not show the "Meal Break" button and will not give any warning/alert if there is an available update for ExakTime Mobile.
If you or the affected employee(s) are unsure where to find the version number of ExakTime Mobile or are unfamiliar with updating ExakTime Mobile, you can refer to the following dedicated article.
Unable to Update ExakTime Mobile
If you are still having trouble with updating ExakTime Mobile through typical means, then there may be additional factors preventing ExakTime Mobile from updating including, but not limited to:
- Device running non-stop for too long - If a device has been running non-stop for an extended period, it is possible for smaller device issues to slowly stack up and become more noticeable. While newer devices and operating systems have become better at handling things in the background before you even notice, a simple restart can resolve many problems.
- Old Operating System - ExakTime Mobile is only supported on recent Android and iOS versions.
- Auto-update on the Play Store/App Store has been disabled - If the auto-update option is disabled for an app, you should still be able to update it manually. The auto-update option makes it easier for ExakTime Mobile to start up to date.
- Play Store/App Store having issues - If the Play Store/App Store that updates ExakTime Mobile is having its own issues, it may help to force-stop the store and re-open the store to try again.
- Data saver preventing the Play Store/App Store Access - Data saver can prevent the Play Store/App Store from using any mobile data or any mobile data after a certain monthly limit has been reached.
- Insufficient storage - If a device does not have space to download the ExakTime Mobile update, try to uninstall any unused apps or delete any unused files.
