When trying to approve time in ExakTime, you may have situations where you are unable to do so. Many of these causes are easy to resolve, while some may require the assistance of managers/admins. The most common reasons are listed below with troubleshooting steps.

Unable to Approve Message
You may see the 'Unable to Approve' message daily time card approval has been enabled, but ExakTime Mobile is not using the correct version. Daily time card approvals require ExakTime Mobile version 2.97. If ExakTime Mobile is version 2.96 or older, it will not be able to approve time cards daily.

No Time to Approve
If your time card does not have any time, the time card cannot be approved and the 'Approve Time' button will not appear in the typical place.

Not Viewing A Pay Period
When approving a time card, you must be viewing a pay period and not a custom date range or pay week. If you are viewing any date range that is not a pay period, the 'Approve Time' buttons will not appear in the typical places. In the example below, we are viewing the same time with a pay period and a pay week.
This can be easily remedied by using the date range selector and selecting a pre-defined pay period or selecting a date range that would be a pay period.
Incomplete Time Card
Depending on your security role settings, you may not be able to approve a time card if there are any exceptions (incomplete time records, overlapping time, etc.) This will present as grayed out 'Approve Time' button. Once the time card is free of exceptions, be it by the employee completing the time records through their normal process or the time card is edited by an Admin, the 'Approve Time' button will be clickable.
Lacking Permission
For non-administrators, permission to approve a time card must be granted. If everything on the time card appears to be in order (Viewing a pay period & the time card is complete) and you are not an administrator, you should contact your ExakTime Connect administrator to ensure that you have the appropriate permission to approve time.
