Viewsets, also known as curtaining, for a Location is an option that limits the cost codes that can be used with a location in ExakTime Connect and ExakTime Mobile. This can help in situations, such as, but not limited to:
- The "Office" location only needs 1 or 2 specific cost codes.
- Non-certified Locations will use a standard set of cost codes.
- Certified Locations will use only prevailing wage cost codes.
- Cost codes available for a location will be based on the phase/stage of a job site.
By default, locations are set to allow all active cost codes to be used with the location. The viewset for a location can be updated either manually or via SyncLinx with compatible payroll/job-costing applications.
An alternative to viewsets is 'Groups', which allows you to 'group' up cost codes for employees to help guide them on what to use. If you are interested in learning more about the differences between viewsets are groups, you can refer to the following article.
- Go to Manage from the menu bar and click Locations.
- Click the small pencil icon to the left of a location name to look at their details.
- Click on Viewsets.
- Enable 'Selected cost codes' and specify what cost codes can be used with this location. Make sure that if you have enabled "Selected Cost Codes", you have at least one cost code selected; otherwise, the location may not appear.
- Click Save when finished.
- Your employees must sync their copies of ExakTime Mobile before these changes are recognized.
