Guide to Timesheets for ExakTime Connect

The "Timesheets" page is where you can review timesheets, add/edit time blocks, and approve/unapprove timesheets for your employees. Timesheets can be great for when an employee only needs to track hours worked such as, but not limited to:

  • Office employees who need to track their hours in the office.
  • Salary employees who have a consistent work schedule.
  • Supervisors/managers to track hours worked for a client without needing specific start/stop times.
  • Copy an employee's timesheet to another date range and/or other employees. 

An employee will only be listed on the "Timesheets" page if they have the timesheet time entry method enabled on their employee profile. If an employee is not listed or if you are unfamiliar with the "time entry method" options, you can refer to our dedicated article here.

The available buttons and options may vary depending on what has been enabled for your security role and ExakTime account.

Navigating to Timesheets

Click Time Management and click Timesheets from the top menu bar.

  1. Employee Search - Seach employee listing by Employee name or ID.
  2. Pay Period/Date Range Selector - Select pre-defined date ranges (pay periods) or a custom date range.
  3. Add Time - Add time to timesheets.
  4. Approve Time/Approval History - Approve the employee's time and/or review the Approval History for employees.
  5. Expand/Collapse or Select Employee(s) - Use the provided buttons to expand/collapse the employee's timesheet or select the employee.
  6. Employee List - List of employees with Timesheets time entry method in your viewset.
  7. Approvals - Quick approve button and approval status.
  8. Copy Time - Copy the employee's timesheet for the selected date range to another date range for the same employee and/or other employees.
  9. Page Selector & Items Per Page  - Jump to other pages and view 50, 100, or 150 items per page.

  1. Click the +/- icon to expand/collapse an employee's timesheet.
  2. Employee Checkbox - Select multiple employees to add timesheet blocks for.
  3. Approve/Unapprove buttons will be present if Pay Period or Daily Time Approvals have been enabled. If Pay Period Approval is enabled, it will also list who has approved the timesheet.
  4. Copy Time - Copy the employee's timesheet for the selected date range to another date range for the same employee and/or other employees.
  5. Click the header to sort the list.
  6. Click the arrow to expand/collapse the day.
  7. Pencil - Edit Icon - 00.png & Trash Can.png - Edit or delete a time block.
  8. If Daily Time Approvals have been enabled, Approve/Unapprove buttons will be present for the day and will list who has approved the timesheet for the day.

Columns

The employee's timesheet will have the following columns. Clicking the headers will allow you to sort the list.

  • Actions - Edit or delete a time block.
  • Date
  • Location
  • Cost Code
  • Hours
  • REG
  • OT1
  • OT2
  • Unpaid
  • Comments
