Issue
When running a data sync from CoreHR to Sage 100 or Sage 300, you may encounter the following error:
"Could not find HH2 matching object EmployeeFederalAndStateTax for State Null"
This error indicates that one or more state tax records in CoreHR are missing a specified state or have a placeholder value such as "NA".
Cause
Each state tax entry in CoreHR must be associated with a valid U.S. state. If the State field is left blank or marked as "NA", the sync process cannot match it to a valid HH2 object, resulting in the error.
Resolution
To resolve this error, follow the steps below:
- Log in to CoreHR and navigate to the affected employee's record.
- Go to Payroll > Taxes > State Taxes.
- Review the list of state tax records and look for:
- Records with no state selected
- Records with the state listed as "NA"
- Click Edit on the invalid record.
- Select the correct state from the dropdown list.
- Click Save when finished.
- Rerun the data sync from CoreHR to Sage.
The error should now be resolved.
Best Practices
- Always double-check tax setup when onboarding new employees or importing bulk employee records.
- Avoid using "NA" or leaving the state field blank in the State Taxes section.
