Troubleshooting Integration Error: “Future Dates are not supported”

Issue

When syncing data from Core HR to Sage 100 or Sage 300, you may encounter the following error:

"Future Dates are not supported."

This error typically appears when employee data in Core HR includes a future-dated entry, such as a hire date, compensation update, or benefit enrollment etc.

Cause

Sage 100 and Sage 300 do not support future-dated data. These systems are designed to hold only current, active employee data and do not recognize effective dates for future events. Any record in Core HR with an effective date that is in the future will not be accepted by Sage during a sync.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the issue:

  1. Do not attempt to modify or delete the future-dated record in Core HR.
  2. Instead, wait until the effective date has passed.
  3. Once the effective date (e.g., hire date, compensation change, or benefit enrollment start date) is today or later, rerun the data sync.
  4. The error will clear automatically, and the record will be successfully processed by Sage.

Additional Notes

  • This limitation applies to all future-dated fields, not just hire dates.
  • If needed, you can use Core HR reports to track upcoming effective dates so you can plan sync timing accordingly.
  • No manual intervention in Sage is required once the sync is successful.
