ExakTime allows you to have ExakTime Mobile notify employees tracked with GeoTrakker with an in-app notification when they enter or leave the GeoFence of a location. This notification keeps them informed so they can clock in to the appropriate location and/or cost code to track their time more accurately.
Notification Example
Employees will receive a notification on their phone, like the example above:
- When entering a Geofenced Location
- Notification Header: Geofence Activity
- Notification Body: Arriving at [Location ID – Name] Please make sure to clock in or out as appropriate
- When leaving a Geofenced Location
- Notification Header: Geofence Activity
- Notification Body: You are leaving [Location ID – Name] Please make sure to clock in or out as appropriate
Requirements
For an employee to receive these GeoFence alerts:
- Their ExakTime Mobile Security Role must have "GeoTrakker" enabled. If you are unfamiliar with GeoTrakker or have not enabled the option, you can refer to our article here.
- Entering and leaving location alerts require your employees to use ExakTime Mobile version 2.102 or newer. If you or your employees are unfamiliar with the version they are using, refer to our article here to check their version.
- Notifications must be enabled for ExakTime Mobile for the employee to receive notifications. If an employee previously disabled notifications, they can reenable them with the steps provided here.
Enabling GeoFence Activity
- Go to Manage and click Mobile Settings.
- Make sure the "Manage Settings for all Employee Devices" option is enabled. This setting helps ensure that all copies of ExakTime Mobile connected to your ExakTime system receive the same settings for ExakTime Mobile.
- Enable the option for “Enable an in app alert to employees when entering or leaving a geofenced location (Geotrackker required to be enabled for employee security role)”.
- Click Save when finished. Your employees will need to sync their copies of ExakTime Mobile to receive these new changes.
