How Time Punches & Battery Levels are Sent From Your JobClock Hornet

Your employee's time punches created on a JobClock Hornet and the Hornet's battery level should be automatically sent to your ExakTime Connect account periodically throughout the day and appear on their time cards and JobClock status page. You can also have the data sent manually in the event that you need to review the time punches sooner or when testing the Hornet.

Sending Data Automatically

Automatically sending the employees' time punches and the Hornet's battery levels requires that there are unsent time punches and that the Hornet is in an area with compatible cellular service.

A Hornet with adequate signal strength should have a flashing green and flashing white light like below:

There are generally only three instances where your JobClock Hornet will not send any punches/data:

  • If the Hornet has no cellular signal. The punches will be stored until the JobClock Hornet has a signal or if the punches are collected via ExakTime Mobile.
  • If the Hornet has no power for wireless transmission. The punches will be stored until the JobClock Hornet is recharged or if the punches are collected via ExakTime Mobile.
  • If there are no punches to send on the Hornet, it will not send the battery level either. This is intended to preserve the battery life as much as possible.

Sending Data Manually

If you need the punches sent immediately, such as for testing a JobClock Hornet or to review the punches sooner on ExakTime Connect, you can quickly press and release the black manager button on the back.
