Alerts and notifications can be sent to your employees via push notifications through ExakTime Mobile, SMS, or email to notify/remind them of important events/information. If you would like to disable an alert/notification method such as email communication, you can refer to the settings of the Alerts and Notifications page.
Sending an alert or notification will depend on the need for the messaging to your employees:
- Alerts - Notify your employees immediately of any critical information (e.g. location closure due to extreme weather, divert employees to a secondary location, etc.)
- Notifications - Schedule a message for your employees (e.g. Reminder to come to the office for paperwork, etc.)

Navigating to Alerts and Notifications
Go to Tools and click Alerts and Notifications from the menu bar.
Creating an Alert/Notification
- Click Create Alert or Create Notification depending on need. Alerts are sent immediately and Notifications are scheduled for the future.
- Specify the recipient(s) of the alert/notification. The employee list will be grouped based on your employee groups/crews.
- Specify the date/time if you are sending a notification. Enter the subject and message of the alert/notification. Be mindful of the character limit for the alert/notification. Click Create Alert/Notification when finished.
- If you need help generating a message, you can use the Ask AI to Create a Message button to generate a message with AI. To learn more about using this AI, refer to the following dedicated article.
- You will see a preview of the alert/notification. Click Send Alert/Schedule Notification when satisfied.
