'Copy Time' is a security role permission that can be enabled by ExakTime Administrators to allow trusted individuals, such as supervisors or managers, the ability to copy their own or other employees' time to a given date range. This can help when an employee has a consistent work schedule to help with quick time entry. After copying the time, the time card can be further adjusted by an Administrator or the employee (if they have permission).
The option to copy time, either for yourself or for other employees, is currently only available on ExakTime Connect.
Things to Note
- The following time card fields will be copied:
- Location
- Cost Code
- Start Time
- End Time
- Equipment
- The following timesheet fields will be copied:
- Location
- Cost Code
- Hours
- The following time fields and data will NOT be copied:
- Forms responses
- Punch GPS coordinates
- Face Front photos
- Comments
- System-generated time off records from the source employee
- If copying time for other employees, policies such as rounding and overtime will apply based on the policy group the destination employee is assigned.
Granting Permission
- Go to Manage and click Security Role.
- Click the ExakTime Connect tab.
- Create a new role or select an existing role.
- Scroll through the list and enable the appropriate 'My Time Card' permissions listed below. If you would like to learn more about other permissions, you can refer to the following article.
- Time Summary, Timecards, & Timesheets
- Access All - Access all permissions to review other employee's time and their own time.
- View - Only review employees' timecards or timesheets.
- Edit - Edit employees' timecards or timesheets. Enabling this permission will also enable 'View'.
- Delete - Delete time from employees' timecards or timesheets. Enabling this permission will also enable 'View'
- Copy - Copy employees' time from timecards or timesheets to another date range. Enabling this permission will also enable 'View'
- My Timecard/My Timesheet
- Access All - Access all permissions to review their own time.
- View - Only review their time.
- Edit - Edit their time from 'My Timecard' or 'My Timesheet'. Enabling this permission will also enable 'View'.
- Delete - Delete their time from 'My Timecard' or 'My Timesheet'. Enabling this permission will also enable 'View'
- Copy - Copy their time from one date range to another. Enabling this permission will also enable 'View'
- Time Summary, Timecards, & Timesheets
- Save your changes.
- If the ExakTime Connect security role has not been assigned to the employee(s), you can refer to either of the articles to assign the security role from the employee profile or the security roles page.
