Field employees complete required training on a computer today, but most of Arcoro's construction users have a workforce that is rarely at a desk. When a course can only be completed on the web, employees fall behind on required learning, and recruiters and training administrators end up chasing down completions that stalled simply because nobody had a laptop handy.
This release brings learning into the Arcoro mobile app. Employees can see what training is open or overdue right from their profile, launch and complete online courses on their phone, and review a full history of past courses, certifications, and learning plans, all without needing a desktop.
Generally speaking, admin features like course creation and editing remain desktop-only. In addition, other learner-related features may not have been included to ensure the best experience for our primary use case, viewing and taking course content in the mobile app.
Enhancements
Mobile learning lives in the Arcoro mobile app under a new Learning entry point, and displays existing LMS course and transcript data.
New Learning Option from Main Screen
A new "My learning and certifications" tile will show on a user's profile in the mobile app if they have LMS access.
- A new "Learning" navigation item will display in the more menu of the mobile app
- Both navigation items will take a user to their "My learning section" of the app
- In order for these navigation items to display, the following must be true. If either of these are not true the learning navigation items will not display:
- You must have LMS
- You must be a user in LMS
My Courses
This is a scrollable list of open course cards, each showing course title, required/recommended badge, due date, and a red overdue indicator for past-due courses.
The "My courses" tab shows any open course that a learner needs to take action on. This includes courses that have been assigned to the learner or enrolled in by the learner.
Tapping a course card expands it to show start date, end date, prerequisites, approved by, assigned date, and status (Scheduled/In Progress/Completed).
When a course can be launched, a launch course button is shown that lets the learner view and complete the online course.
Additional actions a learner can take from the course cards include:
- A learner can withdraw from a course when this is applicable
- A learner can acknowledge a policy after a course when this has been attached.
- A learner can request approval for a course if this has been set up by the admin
- "View Full Details" button on the expanded course cards opens a dedicated screen showing the full course details from the course catalog.
- When a user is enrolled in an in-person class, the "Launch course" button changes to "View class"
Course Player
Tapping "Launch Course" opens a player with the online course content. This button is only relevant to the online training course type. For reference, online training is the course type in the LMS that corresponds to uploaded SCORM courses.
- Learners will be able to take course content within the app and come back with progress saved.
- After the course is complete, the app will track the status and mark the learner as complete on that course.

My Training History
The "My Training History" tab shows all completed courses as well as any assigned learning plans or certifications. This may include courses that were not completed, but are no longer actionable in any way (e.g., if a learner withdrew from a course). There are three sections to the "My training history" tab:
-
Certifications section — This is a read-only list of certifications with title, start/end dates
- A view document link opens the document attached to the assigned certification in an in-app viewer.
- If a certification is expired, it will show an "Expired" tag. If it is not expired, it will be listed as "Completed"
-
Learning Plans section - This is a read-only list of learning plans with a title and a link to view the learning plan document.
- Learning plans in all statuses show on this tab
- Courses section — This is a list of all completed courses or courses in a status that is no longer actionable by an employee (e.g. withdrew, or cancelled). Here we show a status badge; expanded view shows grade, completion date, and the completion certificate link if it is available.
What Will Not Be Available
Here are the notable features that are not included in this release:

- Learners viewing courses by Learning Plan
- Learners adding courses or learning manually through "Add to history" functionality
- The ability for learners to view and complete performance evaluations in the mobile app
- Any changes to the mobile browser experience of the existing LMS pages
