When using ExakTime Mobile, it may request permission to certain features/sensors of the mobile device such as Location Services, Camera, and more. These features/sensors can be helpful or crucial to ExakTime Mobile features such as FaceFront photos, GeoFence restrictions/warnings, etc. If ExakTime Mobile is denied permission to use these device features, ExakTime Mobile may not be able to provide the ideal experience.
The permissions that ExakTime Mobile requires can differ between Android and iOS devices and their respective version. The permissions and instructions listed below are for the latest version of ExakTime Mobile running on the latest version of Android and iOS.

Permissions Requested by ExakTime Mobile
Android Permissions
- Location - Access to location services so any location data generated by the mobile device will be provided to ExakTime Mobile.
- Camera - Access to the front-facing camera for FaceFront photos and rear-facing camera for Field Notes and SiteHub.
- Storage - Access to the photo gallery on the phone to attach photos to field notes or SiteHub.
- Microphone - Access to the microphone to record an audio note for a field note.
- Notifications - Allows ExakTime Mobile to show push notifications from features such as alerts/notifications, manual meal break reminders, etc.
iOS Permissions
- Location - Access to location services so any location data generated by the mobile device will be provided to ExakTime Mobile.
- Camera - Access to the front-facing camera for FaceFront photos and rear-facing camera for Field Notes and SiteHub.
- Microphone - Access to the microphone to record an audio note for a field note.
- Notifications - Allows ExakTime Mobile to show push notifications from features such as alerts/notifications, manual meal break reminders, etc.
Allowing Permission to a Feature
When first using ExakTime Mobile, a prompt will appear asking if ExakTime Mobile can access a certain permission. When prompted, the user should press allow permission so ExakTime Mobile can function as expected. If the user denies permission for a feature, ExakTime Mobile may behave oddly or prevent the user from using ExakTime Mobile, depending on the feature requirements.
Some permissions such as location services can also allow precise/approximate data. In these instances, 'Precise' should be selected to ensure ExakTime Mobile features function as expected.
Allowing Permission After Denying
If a user blocks ExakTime Mobile from accessing a mobile device feature such as the camera or location services, they will need to grant permission from the settings of the device. For steps on what to do, you can provide or refer to the following article.
Requiring Permission
As ExakTime Mobile cannot explicitly force permissions to be enabled at all times, there will be situations where you must stress to your employees the importance of granting permissions to ExakTime Mobile for ease of use and taking advantage of ExakTime Mobile features.
