Field Notes allows you and your employees to create additional notes that relate to an employee/location/cost code from ExakTime Connect or ExakTime Mobile. Before an employee can create a field note, they must first have permission to do so for the respective platform.
Permission to field notes on ExakTime Connect can allow them to see field notes sent by other employees, depending on their employee viewset, and is generally reserved for Administrators, Managers, or Supervisors. An employee does not need permission to Field Notes for both ExakTime Connect and ExakTime Mobile if they will only be using one platform.

Granting Permission for ExakTime Connect
- Go to Manage and click on Security Roles.
- Click on the ExakTime Connect tab.
- Select or add the role that will be given permission.
- Select the appropriate level of access for Field Notes and/or Field Notes on Time Cards.
- If the employee needs to view field notes on time cards, they will need "View" permission to the "Time Card Detail" as well.
- If the employee needs to view field notes from a subject's profile, they will need "View" permission to those pages as well.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
- Assign the security role to the employee as needed from the Security Roles page or the employee profile.
