Guide to Departments for the LMS

Departments are used to assign training and to filter employees by within Succession Planning.

Department Name is used for the Import and is applied to the dropdown menu when selecting by department. Department Number is not used, but required. If using an import file or API, Department(s) will need to be created before doing an import.

Navigating to Departments
  • From Talent Management, click Account Admin from the menu near the top-right.

  • Click Company Setup to open the menu, then click Departments.

The Department page will show columns for:

  • Department Name
  • Department Number

Clicking the column header will let you sort the list.

The search field and filter icon will help you drill down to specific departments.

Adding a Department

  • Click New Item....

  • Enter a department number (10 Characters max) and name.

  • Click Save when finished.

Editing a Department

  • Click Edit.

  • Edit the department number (10 Characters max) and name.

  • Click Save when finished.

Deleting a Department

When deleting a department, if it was assigned to an employee, the department will be removed from the employee profile and the department field will be blank.

  • Click Delete.

  • You will see a deletion confirmation modal. Click OK to confirm.
