"No Locations Available" Message When Clocking In on ExakTime Mobile

When clocking in on ExakTime Mobile, an employee may see a "No Locations Available" message. This message will only appear if ExakTime Mobile has no locations to display. The message will appear like below:

If you are unsure why this message is being displayed, refer to any of the following steps below to confirm the cause and resolve the issue.

Confirm Active Locations

The simplest reason for having the "No Locations Avaialble" message is that there are either no active locations or you have not yet added any locations.

  • Go to Manage and click Locations.

  • Review your list of active Locations. You may need to change the status filter to view Active or All locations.

  • If you recently set up your ExakTime Connect system, you need to add active locations for you and your employees to use. For steps on doing this, you can refer to How to Add a Location (Jobsite) in ExakTime Connect.

Sync ExakTime Mobile

If you have active locations in ExakTime Connect, but your employees are still having trouble, make sure that their copies of ExakTime Mobile have recently synced. ExakTime Mobile will use the data stored from the the latest sync, if you added locations after they initially set up ExakTime Mobile or after they sync ExakTime Mobile, it may not have the active locations yet.

Syncing is done in ExakTime Mobile by either:

  1. Pressing the sync sync-solid.png icon in the top right of ExakTime Mobile.
  2. Press Sync from the ExakTime Mobile menu.

Check Location Viewset

Locations have a viewset option to specify what cost codes can be used with the location. If you do have active locations, but you are still seeing the message after syncing ExakTime Mobile, then the location's viewset may be too restrictive, where no cost codes can be used with it. As each punch requires a location and cost code, ExakTime is trying to prevent a situation where one of those pieces is missing.

  1. Go to Manage and click Locations.

  2. Click the small pencil icon to the left of a location name to look at its details.

  3. Click on Viewsets.

  4. If 'Selected cost codes' is enabled, make sure that at least one cost code is selected.

  5. Click Save when finished.
  6. Your employees must sync their copies of ExakTime Mobile before these changes are recognized.
