Internet browsers (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and so on) feature zoom controls that make items on the screen appear large and easier to see or read. At the same, having a zoomed-in view can distort elements per webpage making some items hard to see or forcing you to scroll in order to view certain sections. Below is an example of a drawback to having a less-than-optimal zoomed-in view on the Time Card Details screen in ExakTime Connect.

Notice both the sidebar and the Time Card sections are bigger but show far less information when zoomed in too close. While one page may look fine when zoomed, the other may not. The more elements on a screen, the likelihood of less than optimal views increases.

You can use universal keyboard shortcuts to control the zoom in commonly used browsers. For PC,  use CTRL plus the + or -  keys to zoom in or zoom out respectively. For Mac, use CMD plus the + or - keys to control the zoom.

Browser Specific Zoom Controls

Zooming Controls in Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)

To access the onscreen controls in Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based), do the following:

1. In the top right hand corner of your window, look for three vertical/horizontal dots 
2. Click them to open the menu and look for the zoom controls shown below:

Using the - or +, you can decrease or increase the screen zoom respectively. The segmented square icon is used for making your window fullscreen; use F11 to escape fullscreen mode. The same controls exist with the Mac version.

Zooming in Firefox

Like Chrome, you can find the zoom for Firefox in the menu located in the top right hand corner of the window.

1. Look for the hamburger menu icon (or three stacked vertical lines/bars) in the top right; click it
2. Find the zoom controls shown below
