ExakTime Connect features twelve "By" reports that sort information based on two different parameters. For example, the Cost Code by Employee report will display the time accrued to each Cost Code sorted by the employees who accrued that time for the given date range. You can choose from the following:
Cost Code Reports
- Cost Code By Employee - Displays the total hours accrued to each Cost Code broken down into each employee who worked those hours
- Cost code By Location - Displays total hours per Cost Code, separated into each location where the time was accrued.
Employee Reports
- Employee By Cost Code - Displays employees and their hours worked for a specified date range, broken out by cost code.
- Employee By Location - Lists each employee's hours separated into each location where the time was recorded
Equipment Reports
- Equipment By Employee - Displays total amount of hours accrued to each piece of equipment separated by the employee who recorded those hours.
- Equipment By Location - Shows hours for each equipment item was used, broken out by location
Expenses Reports
- Expenses By Employee - Lists the expenses recorded by each Employee within the specified date range.
- Expenses By Location - Lists the expenses recorded at each location, within the specified date range.
Location Reports
- Location by Cost Code - Lists each location and total time for cost codes performed at the location. Useful for job costing or comparing actual hours worked to estimates. Also helpful for billing labor costs when different cost codes have different rates.
- Location by Employee - Displays a list of locations and the regular, overtime, and total hours of each employee who worked there.
Scheduled Shifts
- Scheduled Shifts by Employee - Displays the scheduled shifts for each employee.
- Scheduled Shifts by Location - Displays the scheduled shifts by location
- Click Reports from the top-menu bar.
- Expand the appropriate section on the left and select the "By" report you want to view.
Cost Code Reports
Report Specific Options
- Show Cost Code ID - If enabled, will show the cost code ID in addition to the cost code name.
- Show Employee ID - If enabled, will show the employee ID in addition to the employee name.
- Sort By - Select if the list of cost codes should be sorted by the cost code name or ID. This option will not be available if the "Show Cost Code ID" is not enabled.
- Separate Names and IDs with - Choose to separate the names and IDs by one of four available options
- Show Overtime Hours - If enabled, this will show the regular, OT1, and OT2 hours alongside the Total Hours.
- Show each Cost Code on a separate page - If enabled, each cost code will be shown on its own pages.
Example of Report
The report will list your cost codes, the total hours of the cost code used by employees, and columns for:

- Show Actual Hours With Variance - If enabled, will include a table that shows scheduled hours compared to how many actual hours worked with variance amount.
- Sort By - Sort the employees by their name or their ID.
Example of Report
The report will show a list of employees with a total of shifts, daily scheduled hours, daily actual hours, and variance between scheduled and actual hours with columns for:
- Location
- Cost Code
- Shift Start
- Shift End
- Total - Total worked hours scheduled.
Report Specific Options
