Using The GPS Touch Detail Report for ExakTime

The Employee GPS Touch Detail report will list your employees' time punches/records, any associated GPS information captured when they clocked in/out, and if the employees were within or outside the GeoFence of a location. This can be helpful in situations where you need to quickly review if an employee was at a location when clocking in/out based on the GeoFence.

This report requires that you have set up the GeoFence for your locations, either manually or by entering an address for the location. For more information about setting up and using the GeoFence, you can refer to the following article: Setting up and Using the Geofence.

Navigating to the Touch Detail Reports
  • Click Reports from the menu bar.

  • Click GPS Touch Detail under the Employee section.

Report Specific Options

The GPS Employee Touch Detail report offers the following options:

  • Show Employee ID - Include Employee IDs in the report.
  • Show Location ID - Include Location IDs in the report.
  • Show Cost Code ID - Include Code Cost IDs in the report. 
  • Sort by - Sort the employees shown by their names or IDs. This option will not be available if "Show Employee ID" is not enabled. 
  • Separate Names and IDs with - Separate the name and ID using one of four available options.
  • Group by Category - Group up your employees by their category for the report. For additional information on categories, refer to the following dedicated article.
  • Show each Employee on a separate page - Each employee will receive their own respective page(s). If an employee has enough time records, they may have multiple pages. This is useful if you need employees to review their touch details and not see their coworkers' time records. 
  • Show incomplete records - Enable to show records that may be missing a start or stop punch.
  • Show extra record details and legend - Enable extra information to be conveyed in the report with a legend at the bottom of the report that details what certain elements mean; for example: "Italics: Created by office"
  • Show comments - Show time card comments associated with the time records.

The Employee GPS Touch Detail report will list your employees and their time punches/records. There will also be columns for:

  • Day
  • Date
  • Start Location
  • Distance from Site - The distance the employee was in relation to their start location.
    • OK - The mobile device was within the GeoFence of the location at the time of clocking in.
    • No Fix - There was no location data associated with the clock in.
    • Not Set - The location lacks a GeoFence
    • Distance in Red: The distance of the mobile device from the edge of the GeoFence from the location.
  • Start Time
  • Stop Time
  • Stop Location - The stop location will generally be auto-populated with the start location of the following time punch.
  • Distance from Site - The distance the employee was in relation to their stop location.
    • OK - The mobile device was within the GeoFence of the location at the time of clocking out.
    • No Fix - There was no location data associated with the clock out.
    • Not Set - The location lacks a GeoFence
    • Distance in Red: The distance of the mobile device from the edge of the GeoFence from the location.
  • Cost Code
  • Reg/OT1/OT2/Total - Depending on your enabled options, you will have columns for the respective classification of hours and a total of their overall hours for the time record. 

Depending on your enabled options, there may be additional information such as time record comments, time punch legend, etc.
