JobClock Hornet Light Patterns

The lights on the front of the JobClock Hornet will flash or flicker in specific patterns to convey information quickly to workers at the jobsite. While each icon has a light indicator for its status, there are certain light patterns that you and your employees can look out for to ensure Hornet functionality. 

Hornet Lights Iconography

Each icon on the front of the Hornet can have various light patterns to indicate the status of the Hornet as detailed below. The back of the Hornet will also provide the same legend for field workers to reference.

Label Icon Light Patterns
Power

Hornet - Power Icon - 00.png

  • Solid Green - Charged & Ready
  • Solid Red - Charging
  • Flashing Green - Battery OK
  • Flashing Red/Green - Low Battery
  • Flashing Red - Wireless Off. Charge now.
Alert

Hornet - Exclamation - 00.png

  • Off - OK
  • Flashing - Last Send Failed.
Outbox

Hornet - Outbox - 00.png

  • Off - Empty (No Records to Send)
  • Flashing - Records to Send
Signal

Hornet - Signal Icon - 00.png

  • Off - No signal
  • Flashing - Signal OK

JobClock Hornet Light Patterns

Flashing Green/Flashing White

  • Flashing Green Battery - Hornet battery has adequate power.
  • Flashing White Signal - Stable cellular connection to send records.

Flashing Green/Flashing Orange/Flashing White

  • Flashing Green Battery - Hornet battery has adequate power.
  • Flashing Orange Outbox - Has records to be sent.
  • Flashing White Signal - Stable cellular connection to send records.

Flashing Green/Flickering Orange/Flashing White

  • Flashing Green Battery - Hornet battery has adequate power.
  • Flickering Orange Outbox - Hornet is trying to send the records to your ExakTime Connect account.
  • Flashing White Signal - Stable cellular connection to send records.

Flashing Red/Flashing White

  • Flashing Red Battery - Hornet battery is low and will need to be charged soon.
  • Flashing White Signal - Stable cellular connection to send records.

Flickering Red/Flashing White

  • Flickering Red Battery - Hornet battery is very low and is close to losing power.
  • Flashing White Signal - Stable cellular connection to send records.

Flashing Green/Flashing Red/Flashing White

If you have a Hornet with a serial number beginning in 60 or 62, then this light pattern will indicate that the nearby cellular towers no longer support their type of communication (e.g. 2G, 3G, etc.). In the event of this, please refer to the following article.

No Lights

The Hornet battery has no power and can no longer send records or the Hornet power switch is turned off.

All Lights

The Hornet failed to sync with its last communication. Generally resolved by rebooting the Hornet.

  • If you have a Hornet with a serial number beginning in 60 or 62, then this light pattern will indicate that the nearby cellular towers no longer support their type of communication (e.g. 2G, 3G, etc.). In the event of this, please refer to the following article.

Special Patterns

Flashing Green/Flashing Red

Flashing green battery in combination with a flashing red alert indicates the Manager Button was held down while the Hornet was turning on.

Reset the Hornet by holding the manager button down and releasing it when all lights flash together.

If the light pattern persists, you will need to power cycle the device.

Non-Listed Light Pattern

If you are seeing a light pattern that is not listed here, it is highly suggested to reboot the hornet. If the light pattern persists, power cycle the device.

If the light pattern persists and your Hornet is non-operational, use the "Request Support" link at the top of the page to request assistance from our support team.

JobClock Light Patterns

The lights around the JobClock touch plate will flash specific patterns to indicate it's status.

Flashing Green

The JobClock has sufficient power and can accept KeyTab touches.

Alternating Green and Red

The JobClock has a low battery and should be replaced.

Simultaneous Green and Red

The JobClock needs the current date/time. Most commonly due to being unable to communicate with a cellular tower after prolonged loss of power. Rebooting the Hornet will generally resolve this.

Flashing Blue

The Bluetooth of the JobClock is active and allows a user to be collected with JobClock Reader on a compatible device.
