Guide to the FastTrakker Pro

 FastTrakker Pro Sunset

The FastTrakker Pro has been sunset and is no longer available or supported. We will keep this resource available for the foreseeable future for self-support.
Please contact your account manager for alternative options.

The FastTrakker Pro is a retired collector device for compatible JobClocks:

  • JobClock
  • JobClock/EX
  • JobClock Hornet (Serial Number starting with 6000XXXX, 6010XXXX, or 6012XXXX)

After the FastTrakker Pro has collected records from a supported JobClock, the collected records can be synced to your ExakTime Connect account with SyncCenter. For more information about SyncCenter, you can refer to SyncCenter for ExakTime Connect

Screen Side

  1. Scroll Button - Pressing down on the scroll button turns on the FastTrakker Pro and make menu selections. Spinning the scroll button will scroll through menu options. For menu navigation, you can refer to the following section.
  2. Screen - The screen on the FastTrakker Pro shows you information such as date/time and other menu options.
  3. USB-Mini Port - Used to connect to your computer so SyncCenter will extract any collected records and send them to your ExakTime Connect account. The USB-Mini Port is usually protected by a rubber cover.

Battery Side

The CR2 battery that powers the FastTrakker Pro can be found under a plastic cover secured with a phillips screw.

IR Window

The red IR window found at the front of the FastTrakker Pro is used to collect records and set the date/time on compatible JobClocks.

Navigating the FastTrakker Pro Menu

Using the Scroll Button will scroll through the menu options. Pressing the Scroll Button will select a menu option and may show sub-menu options. Depend on how your FastTrakker Pro was initially set up, it may have fewer options. The navigation pathway has been detailed below:

  • Employee Name displays (automatically jumps to Track or Collect)
  • Track (This option will appear if your FastTrakker Pro was originally configured to allow tracking from our TimeSummit legacy system. Setting up your FastTrakker Pro to track cost codes is not supported in ExakTime Connect.)
    • Out (cost code)
    • Remainder of cost codes numbered.
    • Back
  • Collect (This option will appear if your FastTrakker Pro was originally configured to also allow tracking. Otherwise, it will default to "Collect".)
    • Date Display - The date/time that is updated based on the date/time of your PC when syncing with SyncCenter.

      • Click to Collect
        • Searching... / Aim at JobClock (The FastTrakker Pro is attempting to collect. Point the FastTrakker Pro at the JobClock)

Collecting Records

  • Press the scroll button at the top to turn on the screen. It will initially show the name of the employee that the FastTrakker Pro is assigned.

  • While the screen is turned on, scroll through the available options with the scroll wheel until you see Collect Records.
    • If you see the options of Track and Collect, select Collect first, then you should see the Collect Records option listed above.

  • Press the scroll button so it says Click to Collect. Press the scroll button again. It will begin to alternate between Searching... and Aim at JobClock.

  • Aim the red IR Window at the front of the FastTrakker Pro towards the flashing lights at the front of the JobClock near the touch plate. The ideal distance between the two devices is 3-4 inches. They do not have to touch each other.

  • You should hear 2 beeps from the JobClock. The first beep indicates that they are connected, the second beep indicates that the collection has been completed.
  • After the collection has completed, the screen of the FastTrakker Pro will indicate that the collection was successful, the battery status of the JobClock and how many records were collected.

  • You can now attach the FastTrakker Pro via USB to the PC that has SyncCenter installed to sync the records to your account.

Emergency Recollect

  • Press the scroll button at the top to turn on the screen. It will initially show the name of the employee that the FastTrakker Pro is assigned.

  • While the screen is turned on, scroll through the available options with the scroll wheel until you see Emergency Recollect/Record Retrieval.
    • If you see the options of Track and Collect, select Collect first, then you should see the Emergency Recollect/Record Retrieval option listed above.

  • Scroll through the available options: Past 2 Weeks or Past 30 Days. Press the button to select the displayed option and so it begins searching for the JobClock.

Replacing the Battery

To replace the battery of the FastTrakker Pro, you will need a phillips screwdriver and a new CR2 battery (a CR2 battery can be purchased from stores like Target, Best Buy, etc.).

  • Remove the screw securing the battery cover to gain access to the battery.

  • Swap the dead CR2 battery with your new CR2 battery, then replace the battery cover.
  • Secure the battery cover with the screw.
